A Marketing Consultant Would Hate This

Lutheran theology, pulp imagery, and hip hop under one roof. Plus the "Fangs" video premieres today.

A Marketing Consultant Would Hate This

I’ve been working on something behind the scenes, but there’s not much to share yet. There’s no launch date, no website, and no dramatic video with piano music and a logo. Right now, it’s just notes on my phone, scribbles on two legal pads, and a bunch of conversations I’ve had with myself in the kitchen. Honestly, it probably looks a bit odd from a distance.

But it’s in motion.

Here’s what’s going on: my work is spread out all over the internet. I have articles on Substack, sermons and videos on YouTube, and music on every streaming service that will take it. My books are in one place, merchandise in another, and things like podcasts, short films, theology, fiction, and hip hop—plus whatever I dream up late at night—are all scattered across different platforms, each with its own setup.

Now I’m working on bringing everything together in one place. I’m not getting rid of the other platforms—I’ll still post here, music will stay on streaming services, and videos will be wherever they usually are. But I want a central home that I own, where everything connects, so anyone following along can finally see the whole picture instead of just a small part.

There’s a lot going on here, even if it doesn’t always seem that way.

All of it—articles, books, records, theology, videos, and even the random side projects—comes from the same place. I’ve never been good at sticking to just one creative path, and honestly, I don’t think I was meant to. My work is messy, not a neat brand. This new project is about giving everything a shared home, without trying to smooth out the rough edges or pretend it all fits into a perfect plan.

I haven’t figured out all the details yet. I’m still working on it.

Mostly, I just want to let you know what’s happening, especially if you’ve been reading these articles, watching the videos, buying the records, or supporting the work even when it wasn’t clear where things were going—me included. You’re hearing about this first because you’ve been here from the beginning. I really appreciate that, more than I probably say.

There’s more on the way—a name, a design, a plan, and new material. All of it.

In the meantime, today is the premiere of the new DHB video for “Fangs.” That song is a good example of why I need one place to bring everything together: Lutheran theology, horror imagery, pulp writing, hip hop, filmmaking, and a bunch of creative choices that would probably make a marketing consultant leave quietly.

So go check it out here. It premieres at 6pm on the YouTube Channel.

Then come back here soon. The doors aren’t open yet, but I’ve started building the house.
